Power and Solar Group Ltd was contracted by Thika Water and Sewerage Company (THIWASCO) to carry out the Kangoki Sewer Rehabilitation project located at Kangoki Dump Site, Thika Constituency. The tender amount for the project was 4,918,620.The project aimed to enhance sewer conveyance, improve water quality, and restore the riparian ecosystem in the area.

The existing sewer line, implemented in the early 1980s, had deteriorated over time, leading to issues such as sewage overflow, flooding, and seepage into groundwater. To address these challenges, the project involved upgrading the 600mm diameter PCC pipes to 600mm diameter DWC pipes, which are more flexible, durable, and have less friction loss. Additionally, reinforced concrete manholes were constructed, and existing sewer lines and manholes were desilted and unblocked.

The successful completion of this project by Power and Solar Group Ltd has contributed to improved sanitation, reduced environmental impact, and enhanced water quality in the Kangoki area.
